Too off-Model

Matt Groening is a pretty talented dude in a lot of aspects (his Life in Hell comics are great), but I'll probably never agree with him about what constitutes a good drawing. He's just way too conservative on the subject.

So what inspired this image was a piece of unaired Simpsons footage where the characters are animated fluidly and are really expressive. The footage features commentary from the producers (including Matt) and they're all very critical of it calling it "the most horryfying experience of their professional lives" amongst other things.

I'ts a pity, too, because most of the animation is really good. Certainly better than the current episodes with its stiff characters and unnatural movement.
